Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission

The Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission (MMPEC) is a nine-member, state-level entity appointed by the Governor and leaders of the Missouri House and Senate.  MMPEC’s statutory responsibility is to provide leadership in the state’s efforts to preserve and enhance military installations, missions and agencies, to encourage the growth of defense businesses, and create a supportive environment for Service members, their families, and retirees.  The Missouri Military Advocate, who is appointed directly by the Governor, serves as executive director for MMPEC.  Consistent with law, MMPEC’s mission involves advising the governor and the general assembly on military issues and related economic and industrial development opportunities; making specific recommendations to policy makers regarding military and defense challenges and opportunities in Missouri; providing information and assistance to communities and other stakeholders; fostering strategic regional and state alliances; and encouraging economic development by fostering the development of industries related to defense.

The Utah Defense Alliance (UDA) is a private 501c3 non-profit organization, incorporated in October 1993.  The UDA Board of Directors is made up of between 9 and 25 at-large Directors and up to 20 ex-officio Directors.  At large Directors include local business leaders, education leaders, and retired senior military members.  Ex-officio members include city, county and state elected officials, and representatives from the offices of the Governor, United States Senate, and United States Congress.  UDA’s mission is to: support Utah military missions, workload, and force structure; expand and strengthen Utah’s defense and aerospace industry; promote the availability of a highly skilled defense/aerospace workforce; and engage local, state, and national political, DoD and business leaders when necessary to support mission related issues.
