Pentagon Fails New Audit, Cites Progress

November 17, 2019

The Pentagon failed its second audit in a row, it announced Friday, while saying the audit shows DOD is making progress on its accounting.
“The FY 2019 audit demonstrates dedication in pursuing changes necessary to set the Department on an irreversible course in support of the National Defense Strategy,” a press release said.
DOD said it resolved almost a quarter of the issues that auditors had raised in the 2018 audit.
All of the 2019 audit materials are available online ahead of comptroller David Norquist’s testimony on Capitol Hill this week.
