The Senate is scheduled to consider the House-passed continuing resolution Thursday morning, and the White House said the President “remains on track” to sign it into law before the current spending runs out Thursday night, CQ reported.
The new CR would extend current government spending to Dec. 20 and provide for a 3.1% pay raise for service members.
House and Senate leaders are hopeful the extra month will allow them to complete all 12 annual spending bills, though many rank and file members have expressed skepticism that there will be enough time to work out allocation levels and settle such issues as whether to fund a southern border wall.
