McConville Says Quality of Life Important to Army Transformation

January 21, 2020

Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville said the Army is in an age of transformation where big changes are more important than incremental improvements. McConville made the remarks Tuesday at an event hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army, according to an AUSA story.
McConville vowed to continue a focus on quality of life for military families.
“If we take care of our people, get them in the right jobs at the right time and the right place, they will deliver on our Army priorities of readiness, modernization and reform,” he said.
McConville said such transformation requires different perspectives.
“Though that innovation may come from a colonel or a general, it might also come from a lieutenant, a sergeant or someone from industry or academia or a combination of many,” McConville said.
