The Army will spend the next two months inspecting every building – including barracks – for mold, Military.com reported.
“Our soldiers and families must have healthy and safe environments in which to live and work, so reports of mold or mildew need to be addressed immediately,” Rachel Jacobson, assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment, told Military.com.
Recent news reports and viral social media images have shown the extent of mold in some barracks. Much of the problem is attributed to outdated infrastructure.
