Army’s Largest CDC Opens in Alaska

The Army’s largest child development center is now open at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, as Alaska Public Media reported. “It will clear the waiting list for the other two facilities that we have,” a base spokesperson said, “and there will still be plenty of room for additional children to come in.” Fort Wainwright is in North Star Borough, which ADC recognized in 2023 as a Great American Defense Community.

Exchange Service Celebrates Grand Opening of $15.7 Million Express at Fort Irwin

Fort Irwin, California officials cut the ribbon on a new $15.7 million, 14,000 square-foot Express May 29, bringing new food options, services and more to one convenient location, according to a press release. “The Fort Irwin community deserves the best, and I can’t thank garrison leadership enough for helping the Exchange deliver it to our soldiers and their families,” Ladda Thomas, Fort Irwin Exchange general manager, said.
