DeCA to Expand Curbside Pickup Program

July 23, 2020

Click2Go, the Defense Commissary Agency’s (DeCA) curbside pickup program has seen a 43 percent increase in usage since the pandemic began, Military Times reports.

The program was launched in 2019 at four installations. While only five commissaries offer the service, defense officials hope to boost this number to 60 locations in two years.

DeCA plans to expand Click2Go to six new installations by October. Fort Lee in Virginia is expected to roll out the program by August 4.

Lisa Hershman, DoD’s chief management officer, said the initial response to the Click2Go pilot was “tremendous.”

“Then the pandemic hit, and suddenly everybody wished [Click2Go] was everywhere. We already had it in a few places, with a limited experiment. Now the conversation has turned to, ‘how quickly can we get this put in place?’ This is something that folks are really relying on,” said Hershman.
