California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a bill last week expanding the number of professions for which military spouses can get expedited temporary professional licenses and certifications when they move to the state for a duty posting. “This is great news for our military, communities and adds qualified professionals to a great California workforce!” the California Defense Communities Alliance said in a tweet….

More than 100 North Dakota National Guard members have deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border to support Customs and Border Patrol process a surge of migrants, The Bismarck Tribune reported. The mission will last for a year.
