The Army recently celebrated its fiscal year 2022 Community Partnership Award winners in a special ceremony, available to watch online.

“The Army has been able to create countless partnerships with local communities that improve Army quality of life initiatives as well as maintaining momentum on modernization,” said Rachel Jacobson, assistant Army secretary for installations, energy and environment, who co-hosted the event with the Army’s partnerships chief, Ivan Bolden.

The awardees, announced in January, are:

  • Fort Carson, Colorado and the city of Fountain
  • Fort Hood, Texas and the Central Texas Emergency Management Working Group
  • Fort Hood, Texas and the Killeen Fire Department
  • Fort Hood, Texas and the Killeen Regional Airport
  • Fort Riley, Kansas and Unified School District 475
  • Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois and the city of Rock Island
  • Army Daegu, South Korea and the Gyeong-Sang Buk Do Province

Jacobson also took the chance to thank Bolden for his longtime work building the partnership program.

“Ivan Bolden tells us he is retiring, though we don’t want to accept that,” Jacobson said. “These partnership programs are Ivan Bolden’s programs. They are inseparable. Partnerships and Ivan Bolden have been transformative.”
