The Air Force is expanding its “pitch days,” a new acquisition approach that allows some contracts to be awarded within minutes.
The Air Force hosted its first “Shark Tank” -style event in New York earlier this month and will authorize them across the country, according to National Defense.
“I’m a big believer in creating tools instead of rules for the workforce,” Will Roper, assistant Air Force Secretary for acquisition, technology and logistics, said at a recent CSIS event. “Here’s a tool [and] I’m going to try to energize our team to take it and run with it, and I’m going to be excited to see what they do.”
