The Air Force is restructuring its KC-135 fleet to bring on more KC-46s, moving 12 of the tankers from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., to Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., Air Force Magazine reported. The service recently announced the 92nd Air Refueling Wing at Fairchild will receive the KC-135s beginning in fiscal 2020, a shift that will add 1,000 airmen and families to the base…
 
The U.S. Navy is testing wells near Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., for possible toxic contamination after identifying several homes with contaminated water, WKRG News 5 recently reported. The water contamination, believed to be from firefighting foam, prompted Navy and health officials to hold a meeting with residents to make sure they understand their water test results…
 
The Hawaii Department of Health has asked the U.S. Navy to move fuel tanks stored beneath Red Hill, Hawaii News Now reported last week. Bruce Anderson, director of the state health department, says the Navy has 20 underground tanks at the site and has voiced concerns an earthquake or other event could cause a major spill.
