May 22, 2019

The Senate Armed Services Committee has completed its closed-door markup of the fiscal 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, CQ reported Wednesday.
The markup session of the annual defense legislation, finished in under seven hours, authorizes $750 billion for defense spending next year, according to the report.
Chairman James Inhofe (R-Okla.) said the committee’s topline spending matches DOD’s fiscal 2020 budget request, but he and other members declined to offer further details until a Thursday press conference.
