Lowey: Approps Deal Possible on Thursday

December 11, 2019

House Appropriations Committee Chair Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that there may be a deal on spending bills by “the end of the day” Thursday, CQ reported Wednesday night.
Republican negotiators send Lowey another offer Wednesday, “and we’re discussing it and we can find some agreement,” she said.
Appropriations leaders are scheduled to meet Thursday with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who is leading negotiations for the White House.
Lawmakers are trying to pass final versions of all 12 spending bills before the current stopgap spending agreement expires Dec. 20.
