Lockheed Martin’s production of the F-35 aircraft was ahead of schedule last year in a “marked improvement,” the Defense Contract Management Agency said this week, according to Bloomberg.
The F-35 program has faced troubles historically, even as Congress and DOD continue ordering more of the aircraft.
“The significant increase in on-time deliveries reflects the growing maturity of the entire F-35 enterprise and our focus on continuous improvement,” a Lockheed spokesperson told Bloomberg in an email.
