Space Force Announces 16 Military Job Specialities

March 4, 2020

Director of Space Force Planning Maj. Gen. Clinton Crosier announced personnel specifics of the new military service, which will total a staff count of about 15,000, military.com reports.

The branch will focus on five technical areas of support: space operations, space engineering, space intelligence, space acquisition and science, and space cyber. Job function titles outlined in recent Space Force presentation include “13S Space Ops,” “1N1 Geospatial Intel,” and “3D1 Cyber Support.”

“Eighty percent of the common support the space force needs … is going to come from the Air Force. So we can really focus on the things we were told to do. If it’s a Space Force-specific function, Space Force will execute,” said Crosier.
