Pentagon Issues Fourth 5G Request for Prototype Proposal

The Department of Defense issued a 5G Request for Prototype Proposal (RPP), to test the spectrum’s application at at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, as well as Utah Test and Training Range.

The announcement was recently publicized by the National Spectrum Consortium.

“We strongly encourage our members to collaborate and respond to these important RPPs to support innovation and make sure that the United States remains a global technology leader on 5G,” said National Spectrum Consortium Chief Strategy Officer, Vice Admiral Joseph Dyer.

One of the primary missions of the prototype RPP will be used to evaluate 5G cellular network’s impact on airborne radio systems,

This is the fourth and final RPP that the DOD plans to announce with regards to 5G development.
