July 14, 2020

A signing ceremony set for July 16 will recognize a new partnership among Army, Marine Corps, State of Virginia and the Northern Virginia Regional Commission.

The Regional Intergovernmental Support Agreement (R-IGSA) will promote and enhance quality of life and readiness for service member and families in the region.

The primary focus of the IGSA is to provide opportunities for road maintenance supply and services.

“USAG Fort Belvoir, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, and Marine Corps Base Quantico will partner with Northern Virginia Regional Commission for road maintenance supply bulk purchase through Virginia Department of Transportation vendors,” according to document provided to ADC.

Governor Ralph Northan, Assistant Secretary for U.S. Army Installations Alex Beehler, Maj. General Edward Banta and Executive Director of the Northern Virginia Regional Commission Robert Lazaro will be in attendance at the ceremony.

In addition to the IGSA signing, Gov. Northam will also be signing a military bill for spousal licensure that recently passed the General Assembly.
