As of Monday, the Pentagon announced that 117 of 231 installations, or about 51%, have lifted travel restrictions, Stars and Stripes reports.
The Department of Defense deems installations where local health protection conditions are below “Charlie” as being secure for personnel movement.
A stop-movement order was put into place in March by Defense Secretary Mark Esper at the outset of the pandemic. The result of the travel restrictions has caused a major delay in permanent change of station orders.
As of Wednesday, the DoD had 43,851 coronavirus cases, an increase of 1,892 cases during the past seven days.
