Sixteen military spouses from installations with a Corvias presence have been awarded scholarships through the company’s foundation.
“Military spouses face significantly higher unemployment rates and wage gaps due to their unique lifestyles that revolve around frequent moves, deployments, the need for childcare, and more,” Corvias Foundation Executive Director Maria Montalvo said in a press release that also introduces the winners and their spouses’ installations. “Corvias Foundation designed this scholarship program to help military spouses earn degrees that will better enable them to secure employment and help provide for their families.”
The $5,000 scholarships can go toward any higher education-related expenses.
“My fellow military spouses inspire me to pursue higher education,” said Kimberly Cioffi, a recipient from Fort Sill, Oklahoma. “The spouses I know have shown me that it is possible to pursue their callings while also supporting their service members. They taught me to fearlessly go after my calling.”
This is the 15th year Corvias Foundation has given the awards.
