The Navy has awarded $500 million design contract to a Honolulu company for shipyard modernization at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Puget Sound, Washington, according to a Navy press release. “To create the public shipyards that our nation needs requires investments to improve their capacity and capability,” said Capt. Warren LeBeau, program manager for the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program….

Fort Irwin, California and the city of Barstow are entering into intergovernmental service agreements to allow the city to help with some on-base services. The first agreement contracts the city to provide animal control services, the Victorville Daily Press reported.
