Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington was presented with a nearly $1.6 million rebate check from Puget Sound Energy for a project that upgraded energy systems at dozens of facilities on base, according to an Army story. “When you talk about resiliency and redundancy for our critical assets, this partnership off the installation provides us tremendously with both of those,” said Col. Phil Lamb, Joint Base Lewis-McChord commander….

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report details the health problems that Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii military families experienced after last year’s petroleum leak at the Navy’s Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility, as Military Times reported. Of respondents to a voluntary survey, 87% said they had new or worsened symptoms, including headaches and diarrhea. “These results highlight the need for preventing exposure to petroleum products and might aid public health professionals and clinicians in detecting and responding to future similar incidents,” the report said.
