Dozens of School Districts Receive DoDEA Grants

Department of Defense Education Activity awarded 45 grants in fiscal year 2022, according to a list of the grantees shared with ADC. The list specifies each grant’s amount and purpose.

“As we collectively work to advance the lives of military-connected students, we are proud of how the grant program helps to realize the DoDEA vision of Every Student, Every Day, Everywhere,” said Kathleen Facon, DoDEA’s chief of partnership and resources.

Thirty-four communities received a Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Program grant:

  • Cache School District (serving Fort Sill and Altus Air Force Base, Okla.)
  • Carthage Central School District (Fort Drum, N.Y.)
  • Central Kitsap School District #401 (Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor, Wash.)
  • Clover Park School District #400 (Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash.)
  • Coronado Unified School District (Naval Station Coronado, Calif.)
  • Derby Unified School District #260 (McConnell Air Force Base, Kan.)
  • Duval Co. Public Schools (Naval Station Mayport and Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla.)
  • Enterprise City Schools (Fort Rucker, Ala.)
  • Escambia Co. School Board (Naval Station Pensacola and Naval Support Activity Whiting Field, Fla.)
  • Fairbanks North Star Borough School District (Eielson Air Force Base and Fort Wainwright, Alaska)
  • Fairfax Co. Public Schools (Fort Belvoir, Va.)
  • Fort Leavenworth USD #207 (Fort Leavenworth, Kan.)
  • Fort Sam Houston Independent School District (Joint Base San Antonio, Texas)
  • Grand Forks Public Schools (Grand Forks Air Force Base, S.D.)
  • Hawaii-Leeward Army (Schofield Barracks, Wheeler Army Airfield, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Barbers Point Naval Air Station, U.S. Pacific Fleet and Submarine Force, Coast Guard ISC Honolulu, Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point, and Camp Smith, Hawaii)
  • Hawaii-Radford (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Camp Smith, and Ford Island, Hawaii)
  • Hillsborough Co. School District (MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.)
  • Hoke Co. Public Schools (Fort Bragg, N.C.)
  • Knob Noster School District (Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.)
  • Lackland Independent School District (Joint Base San Antonio, Texas)
  • Madison City Schools (Redstone Arsenal, Ala.)
  • Mascoutah Community Unit School District #19 (Scott Air Force Base, Ill.)
  • Monroe Co. Sigsbee Charter (Naval Air Station Key West, Fla.)
  • Newport Public Schools (Naval Station Newport, R.I.)
  • North Hanover Township Board of Education (Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J.)
  • Okaloosa Co. School District (Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.)
  • Randolph Field Independent School District (Joint Base San Antonio, Texas)
  • Richland School District 2 (Fort Jackson, S.C.)
  • Silver Valley Unified School District (Fort Irwin and Marine Corps Base Barstow, Calif.)
  • Wheatland (K-8) School District (Beale Air Force Base, Calif.)
  • Wheatland Union High School District (Beale Air Force Base, Calif.)
  • Wichita Falls Independent School District (Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas)
  • Widefield – El Paso Co. School District #3 (Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base, Pueblo Army Chemical Depot, and Buckley Air Force Base, Colo.)
  • Yelm Community Schools (Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash.)

Eleven communities received DoDEA’s World Language Advancement and Readiness Program grant:

  • International Leadership School of Texas (multiple Texas installations)

  • San Diego Unified School District (Naval Station San Diego, Calif.)
  • Savannah – Chatham School District (Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.)
