Lawmakers seem confident they will pass a final defense authorization bill this year, CQ reported. Negotiators have spent a month working out an agreement between the Senate Armed Services Committee version of the NDAA with the version the House passed.

“I hope we can get it done towards the end of the week, and if there’s any good fortune the House can take it up next week,” Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Jack Reed (D-R.I.) told CQ Tuesday.
