Marine Corps’ 2030 Plan Includes Quality of Life Improvements and Installation Resilience

February 28, 2023

The Marine Corps last week announced planned changes to its 25 installations between now and 2030, as Marine Corps Times reported. Installations and Logistics 2030 is the latest in a series of strategic plans the branch has issued with a focus on 2030.

Among the themes in the plan are to improve barracks living conditions; make bases more resilient against climate change, cyber attacks and other threats; and rethink where Marines are located around the world to be most effective.

“Any student of military history understands the critical nature of logistics and sustainment capabilities,” Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger said in a press release. “We are focusing on diversifying distribution models, resourcing and improving sustainment capabilities, and ensuring the most resilient installations.”
