House NDAA Would Include Bonuses and Better Housing Pay, Military Times Reports

June 12, 2023

Military Times reported that a draft of the House National Defense Authorization Act includes policies to help junior troops and their families facing low pay and high inflation.

The draft NDAA would authorize “monthly bonus pay” for troops rank E-6 and below “as economic conditions dictate,” according to the report. DOD officials would set the exact amounts.

The bill also “calls for significant changes in how basic housing allowance stipends are awarded, with an eye toward increasing amounts for service members living in regions with high rent or scarce availability,” the article said.
