Lawmakers Say NDAA Compromise Almost Complete

November 16, 2023

The Senate formally named its conferees to negotiate with the House on a compromise National Defense Authorization Act. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on the floor that he expects the bill to be finished by the end of the year.

Informal negotiations have already been under way, and the only remaining differences are “not irreconcilable,” House Armed Services Committee Chair Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) said, according to CQ.

Rogers said he expects to have a final bill on the House floor by early December.
