Panel to Make Quality of Life Recommendations Next Month

January 2, 2024

The House Armed Services Committee’s special quality of life panel is expected to make recommendations early next month on improvements for service members and military families, as Military Times reported.

The panel is chaired by Reps. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) and Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.). Their mission is to find ways to improve military life and increase reenlistment. The group’s members have held a series of roundtables over the past year.

Their recommendations may cover housing, child care, compensation and support programs. They hope to include the recommendations in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
