The Marine Corps has become the first military branch to successfully pass an audit of its assets and inventory, Defense News reported, laying out the steps the branch took over almost two decades.
“It was a goal of the commandant of the Marine Corps to pass the audit because he wants to show the credibility of the Marine Corps back to the Congress and the taxpayer,” Ed Gardiner, assistant deputy commandant for programs and resources, told reporters.
DOD and the other branches have not been able to pass clean audits.
