Report: Space Force Will Start Onboarding Reservists this Summer

March 29, 2024

Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman told Guardians the Space Force will begin bringing full-time reservists into the force this summer, Military.com reported, citing an internal memo.

Saltzman said the process will take time.

“We want all reserve space professionals to join the Space Force, full or part time,” Saltzman wrote, according to the report. “To make that possible, there are a lot of administrative details we must solve.”

Congress approved a plan to rely on part-time and full-time reservists instead of establishing a Guard component dedicated specifically to the branch.
