Sharene Brown, spouse of Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. CQ Brown, will discuss her Five and Thrive initiative and advocacy for military families tonight at a virtual meeting hosted by the group Crucial Convo.

It’s the second session of a two-part conversation, called “Five and Thrive: Advocates for Change.” The first session focused on Exceptional Family Member Program families, child care, education, health care, housing and spouse employment.
Brown will be joined tonight by Brian Garrett, deputy director of military affairs for the Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs; Kayla LaFond, Virginia military spouse liaison for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services; Lydiah Owiti-Otienoh, program manager at the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Professional Networks; and Meredith Smith, program analyst at the DOD Defense-State Liaison Office.
