Military Spouses with Businesses Eligible for Relocation Reimbursements

June 17, 2024

Military spouses in most branches who own their own businesses are now eligible for a $1,000 reimbursement to move their businesses when relocating with their spouse to a new base, as Military Times reported.

The reimbursement is to help cover the cost of equipment transfer, registration permits and other related costs.

The article notes that all branches except the Marine Corps have developed the processes through which spouses may apply for reimbursement. The Marines were still working on their own guidance early last week.

“Support from spouses is essential for their soldiers’ successful and continued service,” an Army spokesperson told Stars and Stripes.
