The area around Fort Drum, N.Y., has been declared the most politically tolerant community in the country by The Atlantic, based on analysis from PredictWise. “These are places where people can disagree on politics but still, it appears, give one another the benefit of the doubt,” according to The Atlantic, which has an interactive map of all communities’ rankings. The North Country-Fort Drum region is one of five members of the 2019 class of Great American Defense Communities.
