  • An Air Force infrastructure strategy released Monday shows how the service’s budget will be used to “ensure these installations are capable now and 20 years into the future,” Richard Hartley, Air Force principal deputy assistant secretary for installations, environment and energy, told Federal News Network.
  • House Democrats are planning for a $733 billion defense budget, according to remarks from Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith (D-Calif.), as reported by the Federal News Network. The President has requested $750 billion.
  • House leaders hope to start marking up the DOD appropriations bill in late April, and may pair it on the floor with the appropriations bill that funds workforce, health and education by June, CQ reported Monday evening, adding that the schedule could change, with the appropriations bill for military construction and veterans affairs taking the earliest slot.
