Plans for a $400 million technology park outside of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., a project proposed by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), was unveiled at the opening day of the Defense Leadership Forum’s 2020 Air Force Contracting Summit….
Army leaders at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, are enacting numerous quality-of-life measures including black-out curtains for barracks, better fitness facilities and access to mental health services after multiple suicides at the base last year. “Suicide is a horrible, difficult issue and one in which our behavioral health scientists have worked very hard,” Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy said….
Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., has opened a state-of-the-art K9 training facility with a half-acre obedience course and other upgrades, according to a DOD story. The project took six years. “It has definitely improved the quality of life for the dogs,” Staff Sgt. Sara Yandell, the 319th Security Forces Squadron kennel master, said.
