Over 800 U.S. Army recruits took the oath of enlistment on Wednesday and were sworn in by Army astronaut Col. Andrew Morgan, who was aboard the International Space Station, reported Stars and Stripes.
The broadcast was viewed at over 100 locations across the United States including Fort Leonard Wood, MO.; Space Center Houston, TX.; and Fort Douglas, UT.
“We need qualified and innovative people to help us continuously adapt to the changing world,” said Brig. Gen. Patrick Michaelis, U.S. Army Recruiting Command deputy commanding general. “The young men and women who will begin their Army story with the incredible experience with Col. Morgan are part of our future.”
