New App to Connect Service Members to Quality of Life Programs at Army Installations

Digital Garrison, a free app developed in partnership between Army Installation Management Command and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, will help service member living on/near army bases to find programs ranging from child care to medical services.

“Digital Garrison provides information at the ready to improve the quality of life for soldiers and their families,” said Lt. Gen. Douglas Gabram, commanding general of Army Installation Management Command. “Staying connected as a community is key to strengthening readiness and resiliency.”

The app had a soft launch in late-July, and has had about 4,500 downloads to date, reports Military Times. It can be downloaded from Apple and Google Play app stores.

Service members can find also find installation-specific information on a base’s fitness and recreation options, privatized housing offices, as well as access to ShopMyExchange.com.
