USAA is donating a total of $30 million to help service members, military families and veterans struggling to recover during COVID-19, the San Antonio Express News reported. “We do anticipate potentially investing more as we continue to identify ways … to support military families and local communities that continue to be impacted by COVID,” said Harriet Dominique, USAA’s senior vice president of corporate responsibility….

Corvias has awarded 20 scholarships for military spouses, who often have to plan their educations around deployments and frequent moves. “This unique mobile lifestyle presents economic challenges for military spouses due to high unemployment rates and significant wage gaps,” Corvias Foundation Executive Director Maria Montalvo said in a press release. “Corvias Foundation created this scholarship program to combat these hurdles and help these inspiring spouses receive their degrees to help provide for their families.”…

The Oklahoma Arts Council is offering grants for arts programming in military communities, the Enid News reported. “Oklahoma Arts and the Military Grants can empower organizations to tap the transformative qualities of the arts to serve active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, veterans, and immediate family and caregivers,” said Amber Sharples, the agency’s executive director….

About 300 military families in Groton, Conn., received new school supplies in a recent Operation Homefront drive, WFSB-TV reported. Operation Homefront has given out 400,000 backpacks stuffed with supplies over the years since starting its Back to School program.
