DOD Budget Will Reflect Biden Priorities, Cramer Tells ADC Live

April 21, 2021

DOD is “heavy into writing our climate action plan” and addressing other early priorities of President Joe Biden, Paul Cramer told ADC’s Matt Borron Wednesday on ADC Live.

Cramer is principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for installations. He also currently holds two temporary DOD positions – acting assistant secretary for sustainment and acting assistant secretary for energy, installations and environment.

Cramer said addressing climate change is one of the priorities that will be reflected next month when the administration rolls out its full budget request to Congress.

Another will be the Defense Community Infrastructure Program, or DCIP.

“You’ll see the focus is really going to emphasize DCIP, the manufacturing industry [and] those kinds of jobs programs,” Cramer said. “Those kind of resiliency efforts [are] what we’re really going to focus on.”

He said other priorities at DOD include the housing tenant bill of rights and research to develop a PFAS-free firefighting foam.
