Services Set Vaccine Deadlines

September 15, 2021

The Army on Tuesday became the final military service to set the deadline for service members to be fully vaccinated. Here is what the services have said:

  • Army: Active duty soldiers must be vaccinated by Dec. 15. Army National Guard members and reservists have until June 30 next year.
  • Navy: Active duty sailors and Marines must be vaccinated by Nov. 28. Reservists must be vaccinated by Dec. 28.
  • Air Force: Active duty personnel have a Nov. 2 deadline to be fully vaccinated. Air National Guard members and reservists have until Dec. 2.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the services last month to establish timelines to require the shots, after the Food and Drug Administration gave full authorization to the Pfizer vaccine.

The Biden administration has set Nov. 22 as the deadline for non-DOD federal employees to be vaccinated, as Federal News Network noted.
