Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) is pressing DOD to ensure Hawaii is safe from missile attacks, given its location and role in the nation’s defense, as the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported. “Hawaii holds a strategic position in the Pacific with many integral Department of Defense equities, which makes the threat of missile attack particularly acute for the people of Hawaii,” Hirono said last week. “I’ve been asking for many years now how DOD will ensure Hawaii is defended from missile attack.”…

The Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood-PLUS, funded by DOD, has launched in North Carolina to help military families find affordable child care, according to a state press release. “Quality child care supports children’s healthy development, grows our state’s economy and helps make sure our troops are mission-ready,” Gov. Roy Cooper (D) said.
