New York is now part of the federal Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood program, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced in a press release. It will allow about 48,000 military families in the state to receive assistance for child care at more than 15,000 state-licensed facilities. “While the costs of child care continue to rise beyond what many families can afford, providing high-quality, accessible, and low-cost care choices for New York families is vital,” Hochul said. “That commitment extends to our military families.”…

The Knox Regional Development Authority in Kentucky is looking for a new president and CEO, according to a press release. The current president and CEO, Jim Iacocca, plans to retire at the end of 2024. “Jim’s leadership at KRDA has been nothing short of extraordinary,” KRDA Board Chair Marilyn Ford said. “Though we’re sad to see him go, we are comforted by the fact that he will continue to provide steadfast leadership and guidance for the next 14 months as we transition to a new leader.” Candidates must be a former Army officer at the rank of colonel, general officer or nominative command sergeant major, according to the job listing.
