The Department of Veterans Affairs is adding three new Vet Centers and six Vet Center satellite locations, it announced Friday. A press release detailed the status of each project in nine communities:

  • Sierra Vista, Ariz.
  • Solano County, Calif.
  • Cloud, Minn.
  • Vineland, N.J.
  • Clarksville, Tenn.
  • Fredericksburg, Va.
  • Leesburg, Va.
  • S. Virgin Islands
  • Northern Marianan Islands

“Vet Centers provide Veterans with high-quality counseling, community engagement and referral services in nearby and comfortable environments,” VA Under Secretary for Health Dr. Shereef Elnahal said. “Expanding this program throughout the United States and its territories reaffirms our commitment to meeting Veterans, service members, and their families where they are and improving the overall mental health and wellbeing of those who served.”

There are Vet Centers in more than 300 communities, the release said.
