Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia expects to hire 3,000 skilled trade workers this year and a total of 19,000 over the next 10 years as the demand for nuclear-powered submarines increases, The Virginian-Pilot reported. “We are making intentional investments and collaborating with community leaders to ensure we have a robust pipeline for hiring and strong partnerships to meet hiring needs,” Newport News Shipbuilding spokesperson Todd Corillo said….

Fort Cavazos, Texas is a “pilot location” for a new Military Family Advisory Network program that provides groceries and household essentials to new military families, the Killeen Daily Herald reported. “For phase one of the pilot, families arriving at Fort Cavazos… in 2024 will have the opportunity to receive a Permanent Change of Station Pantry Restock Box, made possible in part by Tyson Foods, the Walmart Foundation, Instacart and Umoja Supply Chain Solutions,” according to a news release.
