Spending Bill’s Big Day

March 22, 2024

The House is expected to vote this morning on a package of six spending bills, including the one that funds defense, but House leaders were still trying to put together the votes for the bill to pass with the required two-thirds majority, Politico reported.

If it passes, Senate leaders also hope to move it quickly to avert a partial government shutdown at midnight.

As On Base reported yesterday, the bill includes funding for a 5.2% military pay raise and $100 million for the Defense Community Infrastructure Program.

It also gives a big boost to DOD’s Defense Innovation Unit, as Defense News reported.
