It may be days before leaders at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., can assess the damage caused by the weekend flooding of the Missouri River. About a third of the base was underwater, according to the Omaha World-Herald….
Military leaders joined the South Georgia community to honor Parker Greene, a longtime Moody Air Force Base supporter who died in December, according to the Valdosta Times. “Parker Greene makes us want to be better men and women, to live up to a higher standard, to love and care for airmen as much as he did and to give with no expectation of getting anything in return,” Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein said last week presenting Greene the Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award, accepted by Greene’s wife Lucy, also a local champion for airmen and their families. Greene became the first person ever to receive the honor twice….
The Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority in Arkansas is taking applications for an interim executive director and permanent executive director.
