The Army will launch a new privatized military housing complaint registry for maintaining a record of ongoing housing-related health and safety issues, Task and Purpose reported Tuesday.
Army Surgeon General Lt. Gen. Nadja West signed a memo to many privatized housing residents.
“Through a records review of Army Family Housing work orders, you have been identified as having submitted a work order addressing health or safety concerns,” West wrote in the memo. “In an effort to ensure this and any other concern you may have has been thoroughly addressed, the U.S. Army Medical Command has established a Housing Environmental Health Response Registry.”
The registry is the Army’s latest effort to track and resolve recently highlighted privatized housing issues. It will provide recipients with information “on housing environmental health hazards” and help them seek “medical care for any housing related illnesses or concerns.” It will also share the complaints with Army leadership.
