The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) has announced that 11 buildings comprising what is known as the Post Office and Warehouse District are under contract for purchase for redevelopment by OPort Partners, LLC, a subsidiary of Denholtz Properties. The existing Warehouse District buildings will be demolished and the site redeveloped for commercial office space and the adjacent six-acre Post Office site will be developed for approximately 60,000 square feet of commercial space in three buildings. The estimated cost of the development is nearly $31.5 million and is expected to provide a minimum of 439 part-time or full-time jobs within 12 months of completion…
The 6th Contracting Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., hosted its first MacDill Pitch Day Aug. 1 with local small business pitching innovative ideas to help increase overall base efficiency and mission effectiveness, according to MacDill AFB press release.  The event follows the recent inaugural Air Force Pitch Day and other initiatives to break down barriers to entry for government contracts. “The first MacDill Pitch Day was a tremendous success that resulted in three contracts being awarded to small businesses for a combined $100,000,” said Jace Anders, 6th Contracting Squadron flight chief…
The City of Jacksonville, Ark., is requesting proposals for contractors to conduct a Compatible Use Study for the Little Rock Air Force Base region. The Defense Department’s Office of Economic Development (OED) has awarded the funds to conduct a study that includes Jacksonville, Sherwood, Cabot and the counties of Pulaski, Lonoke and White. The complete RFP can be attained by contacting Dr. Robert Price at rprice@cityofjacksonville.net. Proposals are due by Friday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. CST.
