Former DOD Budget Leader Nominated for Readiness Post

January 7, 2020

The White House has nominated J. David Patterson to serve as principal deputy under secretary of personnel and readiness. Patterson was a Pentagon budget official in the George W. Bush administration.
If the Senate confirms Patterson, he would effectively be the top personnel and readiness official at DOD, because the position above the one he’s nominated for remains vacant, Military Times noted.
Patterson, a former Air Force pilot who retired as colonel, is currently a vice president at the consulting firm SMA Inc.
