A new online tool will help energy industry developers look for potential sites in Texas and communicate with the military, Texas A&M announced in a story. The university developed the Texas Early Notification Tool with the DOD Office of Economic Adjustment, the Texas Military Preparedness Commission and the American Wind Energy Association. “These efforts support the twin imperatives of military readiness and land stewardship,” said Roel Lopez, director of the university’s Natural Resources Institute….
The new head of the Iowa National Guard said the state’s Guard will start to identify which facilities it may need to close. “We recognize the hard reality that we will need to divest ourselves of some legacy properties and infrastructure that is no longer sustainable to maintain,” Maj. Gen. Ben Corell told state lawmakers, according to Radio Iowa….
A church in Lawton, Okla., is tailoring some of its “life groups” to support service members and veterans, with groups taught by veterans on topics such as PTSD, depression and being away from home. “We have a large presence of military people in our church, active and retired, and many are dealing with these issues and there’s no place to go,” Lawton First Assembly Senior Associate Pastor Gary Pratt said, according to KSWO TV.
