House Armed Services Committee Postpones Defense Authorization Markup

March 30, 2020

House lawmakers have decided to indefinitely delay the markup of the FY 2021 National Defense Authorization Act in order to adhere to the White House’s 30-day social distancing policy, CQ reports.

“The House Armed Services Committee has been, and will continue to be, in strict compliance with the guidance we have received from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Sergeant at Arms, and the House Attending Physician,” said Adam Smith, chairman of the NDAA panel.

The House Armed Services Committee said it will be looking into teleconferencing and written communication to conduct the hearing process.
